In the manufacturing process of mold components, measurement work is essential. KUMAKEN, engaged in mold manufacturing, has developed the On Machine Measuring Tool NK2000, a camera-based machining measurement system that breaks conventional assumptions about machining measurement. By utilizing the NK2000, workpieces can be measured without removing them from the machine, and dimensional checks for additional machining can be performed directly in the checked state. Since further machining can be carried out immediately, improvements in machining accuracy and reductions in machining time are achieved. The imaging unit is equipped with coaxial lighting and ring lighting, with brightness adjustment available via a Tablet PC on the controller, allowing edges for additional machining to be illuminated clearly.
